Claudia Tuyết SCHEFFEL was born to a Vietnamese mother and a German father in Germany. She studied film at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg where she graduated with her first feature film LONIG & HAVENDEL (Loney & Havender). For the documentary HASS.HETZE.HOFFNUNG. – THE MURDER OF LI YANGJIE she won the Grimme-Prize 2026, Germany’s most renowned award for TV and journalism. In 2021 she published her first novel SCHERBEN IM PLATEAU.
